Salary Information: The salary range for Peoria, IL (PIA - General Downing/Peoria International Airport) is $40,332 to $56,282 or $19.33 to $26.97 per hour, including a locality pay of 17.06%.

This position is located in the Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports, and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. Qualifications

To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to GS-5/6), you must meet one of the following:

1. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
2. Education: High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency certificate.

Credit for experience is based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited proportionally. Volunteer experience through National Service programs or other organizations is also credited if it builds relevant skills.

Additional Requirements

• Occasional Travel Required: Up to six weeks of full-time travel for training, paid and reimbursed according to TSA policy.
• Selective Service Registration: Verification required for male applicants born after 12/31/59.
• Credit Check: No delinquent taxes or child support payments.
• Residency: Resided in the U.S. for three of the last five years, with some exceptions.
• Reemployed Annuitants: May have salary reductions due to pension.
• Dress and Appearance: Must adhere to TSA dress code, covering tattoos and body piercings appropriately.

Work Schedules

Full-time: 40 hours/week, including irregular shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends. Part-time: 16-32 hours/week, with similar shift types.

Maintaining Employment

• Complete required training and certification.
• Pass background and drug tests.

No relocation or pre-employment travel expenses paid. This is not a law enforcement position.
