The Transportation Security Administration is seeking Transportation Security Officers in Grand Rapids, MI. Salary Information: The salary range for Grand Rapids, MI (GRR - Gerald R Ford International) is $45,649 to $56,282 or $21.87 to $26.97 per hour, including a locality pay of 17.06%.
Sign-on Bonus: The TSA is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service. The bonus amount is subject to change based on operational needs.
This position is within the Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security. As a TSO, you will provide security for air travelers, airports, and aircraft. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

To qualify for the SV-D pay band (GS-5/6), you must meet one of the following:
Additional requirements include occasional travel for training, verification of Selective Service registration for male applicants born after 12/31/59, and a clean record regarding taxes and child support. Applicants must have resided in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years, with some exceptions.
Reemployed annuitants may face salary reductions due to pension offsets. TSOs must adhere to TSA dress and appearance standards, which restrict visible tattoos and piercings that could be deemed inappropriate or visible beyond the uniform.
Full-time positions require 40 hours per week, with shifts potentially including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Part-time shifts generally range from 16-32 hours per week, with similar scheduling flexibility.
TSOs must complete training, recertification, and pass background and drug tests to maintain employment.
