Job summary

Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) seeks a qualified transportation engineer to support the Safety Policy Program, focusing on planning level analyses, data‑driven safety improvements, and coordinating with internal and external partners.

You will lead studies, manage consultants, and present findings at public meetings to advance urban traffic safety initiatives. A PE license is required, and experience with crash data analysis is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 3+ years of related work experience in engineering, urban traffic safety, and/or planning.
• Familiarity with MUTCD, Highway Safety Manual, predictive safety methods, and GIS spatial crash analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage scopes, schedules and budgets of transportation planning studies.
• Analyze crash data and evaluate safety countermeasures and design impacts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for project design and implementation.
• Oversee consultant contracts and related procurement.
• Facilitate MAG Transportation Safety Committee and present at public meetings.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders on safety initiatives.
