The Transportation Safety Manager is responsible for developing and training current and future Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors.

Essential Functions:



  • Train Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors on the policies and procedures of monitoring and driving responsibilities, including bus evacuation training and the process of obtaining CDL licensing for drivers.

  • Maintain Driver/Monitor Training Records.

  • Develop and maintain Driver/Monitor training programs.

  • Schedule First Aid/CPR classes.

  • Schedule Bus Evacuation Training.

  • Maintain PQ Registry of Drivers/Monitors.

  • Perform observations of Drivers/Monitors.

  • Maintain Accident and Drug & Alcohol Logs.

  • Keep Drivers current on FMSCA rules.

  • Keep CDL Drivers current with licensing.

  • Follow Transportation policies and procedures as outlined.

  • Uphold the values of CTI - Equity, Integrity, Compassion.



Qualifications:



  • Pass Pre-Employment Drug Test.

  • Valid CDL A or B with P and S Endorsements.

  • 2 Years of Experience in supervising Pupil Transportation.

  • 3 Years Clear MVR of Violation/Accidents.

  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to motivate students and collaborate with others around program issues, and team teaching.

  • Valid Massachusetts School Bus Drivers Certificate.

  • Valid School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate for 2 years

  • Certified Passenger Safety Technician.

  • Pass CORI/SORI/DCF/Fingerprinting background checks.

  • Proficient Computer Skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and comfort learning new software and tracking systems.

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Evidence of recent Mantoux test, physical exam and MMR Vaccine



Education: High School or Equivalent


Licensures: Valid CDL A or B with P and S endorsements
