Job summary

Landstar is seeking a Transportation Recruiting Coordinator to be onsite in Rockford, IL. You will be the first point of contact for prospective Owner Operator drivers (BCOs), guiding them through leasing and onboarding and supporting recruiting outcomes tied to calls, leads, and applications.

The role runs Monday to Friday with set daytime hours and includes benefits to support day-to-day work, such as medical plans, a 401(k) match, paid time off, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of call center or customer service experience.
• Six months of transportation and logistics experience.
• Six months of recruiting and/or sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Present the Landstar leasing opportunity to prospective BCOs in a clear, engaging way to encourage applications.
• Make timely follow-up calls to prospective BCOs to encourage submission of applications and address questions.
• Meet or exceed monthly departmental goals for calls, leads, completed applications, and leads referred to the Qualification Center.
• Manage daily inbound calls, outbound follow-up calls, emails, and administrative responsibilities.
• Build positive relationships with prospective BCOs and provide a professional, helpful experience.
• Coordinate and represent Landstar at transportation industry events and truck shows, including occasional travel.
• Accurately document recruiting activities and maintain BCO records for future reference and reporting.
• Collaborate with teammates and management to improve the recruiting process and candidate experience.

Onsite in Rockford, IL (also noted as Rockford or Jacksonville), this Transportation Recruiting Coordinator role is your chance to help prospective Owner Operator drivers (BCOs) take the next step with Landstar. Compensation: $19.50 to $21.39 per hour based on experience (USD 19 - 21 hourly). You will work onsite, using the Microsoft Office Suite as part of recruiting administration and documentation.

• Collaborate with teammates and management to identify ways to improve the recruiting process and candidate experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of call center, customer service, or an equivalent combination

Preferred experience and education

• Six months of transportation and logistics experience
• Six months of recruiting and/or sales experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Ability to engage and retain BCOs upon first communication
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills, with an emphasis on phone etiquette
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

Work location and schedule

• Location: Onsite Rockford or Jacksonville
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm CST or 9am to 6pm EST
