Job summary

The West Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Engineer Specialist to oversee QA/QC Inspection as Section Head. This role will operate across the state, performing planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of highways and related structures.

Credentials include licensure as a Professional Engineer in West Virginia (or with comity) and a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program.

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressive civil engineering experience preferred.
• P.E. licensure in WV or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil/related field from ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, construct, maintain and operate highways and related facilities and structures.
• Independently make engineering decisions within policy framework and guide objectives and goals.
• Serve as Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspection Section Head and lead related activities.
