Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Public Involvement Coordinator for our Washington, DC office to support communications and public engagement for transportation infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. You will join a national team of professionals delivering public information and outreach services.

Your work includes developing outreach materials, organizing stakeholder engagements, and serving as liaison between projects, communities and clients to inform project development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of communications or planning experience.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proven experience writing content for websites, social media and media notices.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear public content.
• Experience using social media for outreach campaigns.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop outreach messaging to educate the public about infrastructure projects.
• Produce news releases, brochures, fact sheets, surveys and media alerts.
• Research and write content for website, social media, presentations and marketing materials.
• Coordinate public meetings and community events with various stakeholders.
• Attend external meetings to provide public involvement updates.
• Analyze public feedback and draft responses to inquiries.
• Lead social media outreach plans and vet posts.
• Review stakeholder feedback and summarize results.
• Direct design and media assets as needed (graphics, video, photography).
• Monitor media coverage and align communications with client priorities.
