Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code.
• Experience with land development and PennDOT permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage large land development projects in traffic engineering and planning.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on traffic studies, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic/signal operations analysis.
• Obtain and analyze PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit criteria and procedures.
• Oversee preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs.
• Represent the firm at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage large land development projects in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic impact studies, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Overseeing the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Serve as a representative at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE required)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code
• Experience with testimony on behalf of land development applicants as it relates to Pennsylvania municipal approvals
