Job summary

TPD is hiring engineers at all levels with project management experience in land development and PennDOT permitting. The role focuses on traffic engineering, studies, and design within municipal settings.

The ideal candidate will manage multi-disciplinary projects, prepare, review, and present reports and plans, and represent the firm at meetings with municipalities and PennDOT. A PE license and civil engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE required)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code
• Experience with testimony on behalf of land development applicants as it relates to Pennsylvania municipal approvals

Responsibilities

• Manage large land development projects in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic impact studies, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Overseeing the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Serve as a representative at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings
