Traffic Planning & Design, Inc. in Harrisburg invites engineers at all levels to join a nationally recognized firm. You will contribute to design and transportation projects, supporting capital improvement planning, cost estimates and feasibility studies.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, with EIT/FE preferred. Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD or OpenRoads is necessary, along with strong communication and organizational skills and a valid driver's license.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• EIT/FE certification is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with CAD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD or OpenRoads).
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in external communication for specific projects.
• Support capital improvement planning, cost estimates and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on intersection design and traffic signal plans.
• Handle permit design criteria and documentation per PennDOT standards.
• Assist in preparing reports, specifications, plans and schedules.
• Monitor construction sites and serve as on-site project representative.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• Capital improvement planning including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
• Serving as on-site project representative.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• EIT, FE, (not required, but preferred)
• Knowledge of CADD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoad)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License
