Job summary

GHD's US West Roads team seeks a Project Manager / Project Engineer - Transportation for a part-time, as-needed role supporting planning, design, procurement, and construction of transportation and municipal infrastructure.

Based in Santa Rosa, CA with a hybrid schedule (office three days a week), you will coordinate designs, oversee consultants, manage project controls, funding documentation, and support state and federal funding efforts while liaising with clients and public agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering municipal transportation, public works, capital improvement projects.
• Review designs, oversee consultants, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Public agency project delivery, grants, procurement, bidding, and construction processes.
• Review technical deliverables for completeness, coordination, constructability, quality, and alignment with project requirements.
• Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
• Clear, practical communication with clients, agencies, project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with the delivery of transportation, utility, and municipal capital improvement projects.
• Oversee design development, reviews, specs, estimates, reports, and other technical deliverables.
• Coordinate roadway, drainage, traffic, utilities, survey, environmental, permitting, ROW, and other disciplines.
• Facilitate design reviews, document decisions, track comments, and resolve delivery issues.
• Support consultant procurement and contract administration, including scopes of work, RFPs, budgets and invoices.
• Assist with project planning, cost estimates, grant applications, and funding documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, public agencies, funding partners, and community stakeholders.
• Provide technical coordination and project support through planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout.
