Job summary

GHD is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer - Municipal Roadways in California. The role leads roadway design assignments, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, and manages small to midsize municipal projects from concept through construction.

Offices are in multiple CA locations with a hybrid work model—three days in the office per week—supporting planning, preliminary engineering, final design, and construction services. A CA PE license or ability to obtain is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on small to midsize municipal roadway/public works projects.
• California Civil Engineer license or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Experience delivering complete design packages and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design tasks and small to midsize municipal roadway projects, including complete streets and multimodal facilities.
• Own and coordinate PS&E packages, technical memoranda, reports, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with public agencies, contractors, subconsultants, utility owners, and internal disciplines to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
