Job summary

GHD's US West Roads team is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer – Municipal Roadways with seven or more years of civil engineering experience to lead roadway design assignments for cities, counties, Caltrans, and clients. This position can be located in Sacramento or other CA offices and features a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration three days a week.

You will own complete PS&E packages, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff while growing toward project

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on small to midsize municipal roadway, complete streets, multimodal, or related public works projects.

Responsibilities

Lead design tasks and small to midsize projects for municipal roadways and related public works improvements.
Own and coordinate complete PS&E packages, technical memoranda, reports, calculations, and cost estimates per Caltrans/local agency standards.
Integrate roadway, drainage, utility, traffic, right-of-way and environmental inputs into practical designs.
Coordinate with public agency and contractor clients, subconsultants, utility owners, and internal disciplines to keep projects moving.
Manage or support scope, schedule, budget, staffing, risk, and quality of assignments.
Guide junior engineers and designers and provide support during bidding and construction.
