Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Idaho-based team. The role focuses on preparing engineering drawings, coordinating with clients and regulators, and delivering project budgets and schedules.

You will contribute to the design of transportation facilities, work with ITD procedures, and use AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads, and Geopak. PE certified or eligible within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.
• Experience designing transportation facilities for state DOTs and local jurisdictions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies for permitting compliance.
• Prepare budgets and schedules for projects.
• Support clients with bidding, contracting, and construction phases.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control.

Skills

3+ years Civil Engineering experience

Ability to obtain PE within 6 months

Education

B.S. in Civil Engineering

PE registration in Idaho or ability to obtain within 6 months

What we're looking for:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Idaho (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• 3+ years of Civil Engineering experience
• Experience in designing transportation facilities for State transportation departments & local jurisdictions
• Experience with ITD’s procedures and requirements
• Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads, and Geopak design software
