J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeks an Engineer-in-Training Project Designer specializing in transportation. Join our Transportation Services Group to work on local roadways, highways, and active transportation projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, EIT certification, and 0–5 years of transportation experience. You’ll use MicroStation/OpenRoads, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and engage in client and public meetings and fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering.
• Certification as Engineer-in-Training (EIT) (passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam) required.
• 0-5 years of transportation engineering experience.
• MicroStation/OpenRoads Design Experience is desired.
• Strong communication skills and a focus on quality deliverables.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• History of working on projects with UDOT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with multidisciplinary design teams in planning, design, construction and permitting of transportation projects.
• Operate CAD (MicroStation/OpenRoads) to produce alignments, models, and plans.
• Work in a team setting, reporting to a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
• Analyze engineering data and use engineering judgement to produce final documents.
• Attend client meetings and participate in public meetings or open houses to discuss project details and inform the public.
• Coordinate with utility companies.
