Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Planning students to join our Sacramento, CA office on the Transportation team for Summer 2027. This is a non-remote, on-site internship in California.

You will contribute to pre-construction planning, permitting, and analysis across varied projects, working with project managers and interdisciplinary teams to shape visions for the future built environment. Hourly rates range from $29.00 to $30.00.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Planning degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program.

• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and company practices.

• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Evaluate development proposals to identify compliance with zoning regulations.
• Prepare planning and land use studies.
• Coordinate with various municipal and state agencies.

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors:
  • City and Regional Planning
  • Urban Planning
  • Transportation Planning

Hourly Rate: $29.00/hr - $30.00/hr
