Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Lehi, Utah is seeking student interns to support pre-construction planning, permitting, and analysis on multiple projects. You will help project managers, collaborate across disciplines, and gain familiarity with local regulations and company standards.

This is an on-site, in-office opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience for students pursuing relevant degrees. Applicants should be enrolled in a degree program related to aviation, urban or regional planning, or

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant program.
• Majors listed reflect aviation, urban planning, and transportation fields.
• Degree in progress required or anticipated for summer/semester of internship.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for students to join our Lehi, Utah (UT) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the pre-construction planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Evaluate development proposals to identify compliance with zoning regulations.
• Prepare planning and land use studies.
• Coordinate with various municipal and state agencies.

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving a degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors:

  • Airport Management
  • Aviation Business Administration
  • Urban & Regional Planning
  • Transportation Planning
  • Community & Regional Planning
  • Or Other Related Major
