Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Planning students to join our Reston, Virginia office on the Transportation team. This is not a remote position.

As an intern, you will support transportation planning efforts using GIS, Word, and Excel, and help analyze data to inform recommendations. You will participate in meetings with clients and project teams, communicating technical information clearly.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Planning degree (Bachelors or Masters) in City and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation planning efforts including Safety Action Plans, campus masterplans, parking and curbside programs.
• Assist with project analysis and deliverables using GIS, Word, and Excel.
• Analyze data to identify trends and evaluate alternatives for project recommendations.
• Participate in meetings with clients and project teams, communicating technical information clearly.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning students to join our Reston, Virginia (VA) office on the Transportation team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems, support project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to help bring our clients' visions for the future built environment to life.
• Assist with a variety of transportation planning efforts, including Safety Action Plans, campus masterplans, parking and curbside management programs, and mobility planning.
• Support project analysis and deliverables using GIS, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Analyze data and information to help identify trends, evaluate alternatives, and support project recommendations.
• Participate in public, client, and project team meetings, using strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical information and gain exposure to both the technical and client-facing sides of transportation planning.

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors:
  • City and Regional Planning
  • Urban Planning
  • Transportation Planning
  • Or Other Related Major

Hourly Range: $30/hr - $31/hr
