Job summary

The City of Bellevue Transportation Department is seeking an Associate Transportation Planner to join a team of professionals focused on multi-modal mobility and code development. You will support policy, plan and code development, and help prioritize concepts to close performance gaps in bicycle and pedestrian networks.

Responsibilities include community engagement, collaboration with partner agencies, and assisting Transportation Commission work with agendas and meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in transportation, land-use planning, urban planning or a closely related field.
• Minimum: 3 years of experience that provides comprehensive knowledge of planning principles and techniques as they relate to transportation, land use, environment, or related areas.
• Preferred: Master's degree and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.
• Or any demonstrated combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Project Development and Support – serve as subject matter expert for long-range transportation plans and corridor plans.
• Community Engagement – prepare communications tools and be a resource at open houses; collect data and provide summaries.
• Transportation Commission Support – backup staff for agendas and meetings, with evening sessions.
• Planning, Research, and Communications – analyze city transportation policies and plans; keep up with best practices.
• One-City Coordination – collaborate with internal/external groups to align projects with city vision.
