Job summary

The Amarillo MPO is seeking a Transportation Planner I to support planning and administrative activities across multiple transit modes. Under the MPO Director, you will prepare reports, analyze data, and help integrate transportation into land use decisions.

You will coordinate with TAC and policy committees, assist with long-range plans, public outreach, and updates to transportation elements of the Comprehensive Plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, GIS, or related field.
• GIS software experience preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews development proposals with significant Transportation and access implications.
• Develops and maintains automated tracking systems and records.
• Interacts with MPO policy and TAC committees and other officials.
• Prepares staff reports, databases, and spreadsheets of moderate difficulty.
• Organizes meetings with staff and MPO, TAC, and agencies at various levels.
• Assists in implementation of goals, objectives, and policies in adopted plans.
