Job summary

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking a Transportation Planner I to support land use and mobility options. This role focuses on the interface between land use and transportation, bicycle/pedestrian planning, and Safe Routes to School.

The position offers opportunities to work with GIS mapping, data analysis, and interagency coordination in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area. You will help develop corridor plans, analyze infrastructure projects for funding, and craft

Responsibilities

• Draft guidance documents and recommendations on transportation/land use planning topics.
• Evaluate infrastructure projects submitted for funding.
• Develop multimodal roadway corridors, downtown plans, and Safe Routes to School plans.
• Assist with environmental and transportation solutions.
• Collect and analyze data on land use, demographics, and multimodal access.
• Coordinate with cities, transit agencies, developers, and the public on transportation projects.
• Prepare correspondence, grant applications, and technical reports.
• Create maps and graphics using GIS tools and visualization software.
