Job summary

CDM Smith in Florida is seeking a Transportation Analyst to gather and analyze transportation data, including traffic counters and flow data, under direct supervision. You will create basic complexity models for roads, bridges, and highways while reviewing existing models for improvements.

The role supports public outreach, prepares surveys and exhibits, and collaborates with engineers to resolve conceptual design issues. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related discipline.
• 0 years of experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Gather, compile and analyze transportation data including traffic counters, flow data.
• Create basic complexity modeling for existing transportation systems (roads, bridges, highways, tunnels, tolls).
• Review existing models and recommend improvements/changes as necessary.
• Leverage transportation systems, models, simulations and data to prepare basic complexity studies.
• Create transportation surveys, exhibits, and other meeting materials to identify public concerns.
• Lead and perform traffic count and safety studies.
• Review proposed transportation project sites for alignment with draft designs and plans.
• Review transportation plans for compliance with laws.
• Escalate any legal compliance issues as necessary.
• Collaborate with engineers to research, analyze or resolve design issues.
