Job summary

OTHON, Inc. is seeking a full-time Transportation Planner / Engineer for our Austin, TX office to support the Transportation Planning and Data Analytics group on planning studies for TxDOT, MPOs, and local agencies.

You will forecast traffic, analyze operations, build geospatial data in ArcGIS Pro, and prepare technical memos and maps. The role offers mentorship, professional development, and competitive salary and benefits to advance a career in transportation planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Civil Engineering, Urban/Regional Planning, Transportation Planning; master’s preferred.
Experience with TxDOT, MPOs, city or county planning deliverables is a plus.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills; ability to manage multiple assignments under deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assist with traffic forecasting, operations analysis, travel demand modeling, and evaluation of alternatives.
Support corridor and mobility studies, transit planning, evacuation route planning, and safety analyses.
Build and analyze geospatial data in ArcGIS Pro; produce maps and exhibits for teams and clients.
Collect and analyze transportation, traffic, safety, and demographic data; document sources and QC steps.
Prepare technical memoranda, reports, tables, graphics, and presentations to TxDOT and clients.
Coordinate with managers, leads, and other disciplines; track progress and raise issues early.
Participate in project and client meetings and document findings and recommendations.
