Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Transportation Planner to build, optimize, and tender daily shipment plans using Oracle Transportation Management for our manufacturing and distribution facilities. The role requires coordinating with site leaders, carriers, and customers to schedule deliveries and resolve real-time issues in a fast-paced environment.

You will monitor KPIs, pursue process improvements, and support other planners as needed, with onsite Monday–Thursday and flexible Friday locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related field.
• Experience with transportation management systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Strong communication and detail-oriented.

• Assign truckload shipments to carriers per routing guides.

What's In It For You

Build, optimize, and tender daily shipment plans using the Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) system for assigned manufacturing and distribution center facilities.

What You Will Do

• Assign truckload shipments to designated carriers based on routing guides, cost parameters, and service requirements.
• Partner with site leaders and carrier operations to align daily shipment plans with available capacity, proactively communicate shipping updates and delays with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maximize trailer utilization by enforcing strict truckload consolidation and routing standards using available to plan inventory.
• Coordinate directly with customers to schedule deliveries and resolve real-time over the road exceptions dynamically.
• Act as the primary escalation point for carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve loading or delivery bottlenecks, operational escalations, and inventory inquiries.
• Continuously look for process improvement opportunities, using available resources and analytical skills to analyze data to develop and implement productivity initiatives.
• Consistently monitor logistics key performance indicators (KPIs) to pinpoint network inefficiencies and support cross-functional projects aimed at driving system enhancements and operational improvements.
• Support other transportation planners as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or other related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Experience with transportation management systems preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, vendors, and colleagues
• Attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, and the ability to manage high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment
