Job summary

The State of South Carolina, through the Department of Transportation, seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to supervise encroachment permits for district development projects. Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering and six (6) years of engineering work experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer by the South Carolina State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the encroachment permits review/approval process for commercial and large residential developments within the District.
• Coordinates reviews by, and/or meetings with developers, local officials, district engineers, headquarters staff, etc., on complex encroachment permits to discuss and ensure compliance with state and federal engineering standards and to resolve problems related to permit approval and compliance.
