Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Supervisor oversees a specific work shift, managing all waste handling activities including sampling, analysis, processing, documentation, and disposition at the facility. They ensure safety by enforcing procedures and providing training, and participate in hiring, development, and evaluation of team members to ensure efficient operations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise operations personnel activities.
• Ensure inventory compliance and maintain supplies.
• Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and treatment facilities.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of chemicals in waste handling areas.
• Oversee off-loading operations for incoming materials.
• Manage waste collection, analysis, and treatment simulations.
• Make decisions based on waste profile data and permits.
• Approve effluent filtering batches.
• Collect post-treatment samples for waste suitability assessments.
• Notify maintenance of equipment needs.
• Review and sign RCRA manifests.
• Ensure safety rules are followed.
• Train personnel on processing procedures.
• Participate in emergency response operations.
• Supervise 2 or more employees as assigned.
• Perform supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and discipline.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of personnel management, operations, and waste processing techniques.
• Knowledge of receiving, purchasing, licenses, and DOT training.
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management.
