Founding Operations Manager - MRP

Full-Time | Remote | Early-Stage | CPG/DTC

Mucho is a category leader in “meal replacements” and one of the fastest-growing startups in CPG. We officially launched 2024 and are already expected to end year 1 with $5MM in revenue. Our flagship product is a high-protein, nutritionally complete meal replacement bar — designed to provide a convenient meal without compromising on taste or nutrition.

We’re building a best-in-class DTC/Ecom brand, and behind every good growth story is an exceptional ops backbone. That’s where you come in.

The Role:

I’m looking for a Founding Operations Manager to take ownership of the behind the scenes: inventory, logistics, and purchasing. You’ll be my right hand in making sure product flows smoothly from raw material suppliers → factory → warehouse → customers.

This is a unique opportunity to be the first ops hire at a fast-growing brand. You’ll help lay the groundwork for everything operational — including systems, vendors, and process.

This is not a cushy job. You’ll be solving problems daily, wearing many hats, and handling real-time fires. But you’ll also get exposure to how a company is built from the inside out, with compensation tied directly to the growth you help unlock.

At the end of the day, you will have one main goal — to make sure that we have enough inventory to meet hyper-growth.

What You’ll Own:

Inventory Management

  • Ensure minimal stock-outs while maintaining JIT production schedules
  • Align with the CEO & Head of Growth to reach consensus on demand/supply planning
  • Build production schedules and purchasing schedules based off inventory levels, forecasting, & budgets
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and manage SKU-level reporting
  • Ensure that stock is well-distributed across SKU assortment & pack varieties
  • Assist in operating cash-flow reporting based on purchasing & sell-through scenarios

Purchasing & Supply Chain

  • Manage procurement of ingredients, packaging, and flavors
  • Place and track POs with suppliers and co-manufacturers
  • Build vendor relationships and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate w/ the Product Team & Sourcing Coordinator on vendor requirements & feasibility

Logistics

  • Coordinate shipments to and from our 3PL & Co-Man
  • Track inbound and outbound freight
  • Troubleshoot SLA or billing issues w/ 3PL
  • WMS management (we use Shiphero)

Ops Infrastructure

  • Create scalable systems via spreadsheets, ERP, MRP, & IMS software.
  • Work cross-functionally with growth, finance, and product to make operations seamless
  • Help prepare for new SKU launches, retail partnerships, and scale
  • Use mental models & methodologies for process improvement
The Ideal Candidate:

You don’t need a fancy resume — but you do need grit, accountability, and extreme ownership. You should love solving problems, keeping things organized, and making stuff happen.

You should have proven experience in:

  • Managing complex systems with little error
  • Managing high volume of vendors
  • Optimizing ops for cost/lead time/ process efficiency

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with physical products (CPG, DTC, warehouse, retail, or manufacturing)
  • Worked at a startup or built your own thing
  • Strong systems mind (spreadsheet wizard, process optimizer, tool builder)
  • A real obsession with reliability, structure, and precision
Details:
  • Total Compensation: $72k-$150k/yr
  • We are looking for an ownership mentality and compensate accordingly; expect higher equity + bonus compensation
  • $300/month co-working voucher
  • Expect long days, weekend work, and a high sense of urgency — this is a build mode role
  • You’ll be trained on anything you don’t yet know — but you need to bring energy, curiosity, and hustle
  • 1 week long in-person onboarding in NYC + ~10 days of travel throughout the year
  • Flexibility in location, but preference for NYC
  • Quick path to promotion (Director/VP level)
