Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC in Merrillville, IN is seeking an operations supervisor to lead a team of 12 drivers in a 24/7 environment. You will oversee daily tasks, from driver deliveries to cross-docking, ensuring efficiency and adherence to cost objectives.

Responsibilities include supervising dispatch, documentation, and safety compliance while supporting hiring, training, and performance reviews. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• 2 - 4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable and interview hourly associates.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers with counseling or recognition as needed.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, dispatch, and documentation; improve methods to increase productivity.
• Assist in training, provide relief coverage, ensure system knowledge for compliance and reporting.
• Manage hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
• Ensure safety alignment with location strategy and provide direction for safe performance.
• Understand location customer goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Plan work assignments to maximize fleet/warehouse equipment utilization.
