Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7+ years in transportation management in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or trucking.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and IFTA reporting.
• Experience managing drivers, dispatch operations, and transportation support teams.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Familiarity with brokerage and asset-based trucking operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decisions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transportation operations for a fleet of 15–20 drivers.
• Lead dispatch and transportation support teams for load planning, routing, and scheduling.
• Monitor on-time performance, service levels, and delivery accuracy.
• Optimize routes, fleet utilization, and resource allocation to control costs.
• Coach, develop, and manage transportation personnel with performance feedback.
• Collaborate with leadership and HR on recruiting and retention efforts.
• Ensure DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA compliance and audits support.
• Work with Compliance Officer on regulatory reporting and audits.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety violations; implement corrective actions.
• Maintain transportation policies, orientation programs, and safety training initiatives.
• Oversee fleet maintenance scheduling and equipment readiness.
• Monitor fuel consumption and fleet performance metrics.
• Liaise with manufacturing teams to align service with business needs.
• Respond to disruptions and customer concerns with effective solutions.
• Build relationships with customers, brokers, vendors, and service providers.
• Manage transportation budgets including labor, fuel, maintenance, and vendor costs.
• Analyze KPIs like cost per mile, driver productivity, and on-time delivery.
