Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking a transportation operations leader to direct district-wide transportation and vehicle maintenance, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. You will supervise routes, schedules, budgeting, and staff, coordinating with the Director on policy and training programs.

The role requires strong management skills, collaboration with campuses and community, and a focus on proactive, safe, and cost-effective transportation operations for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or applicable experience in transportation services.
• Knowledge of energy management, vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Ability to manage budget and personnel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the safe and efficient delivery of transportation services for all students during the regular school day, field trips, and other district programs.
• Oversee the routing team regarding bus routes and schedules for all schools in the district and monitor future transportation needs.
• Direct and manage the district's transportation and vehicle maintenance program including inventory, maintenance records, and replacement schedules.
• Ensure district-owned vehicles and maintenance work orders are prioritized and processed promptly; contract for outside services when needed.
• Work with the Director to manage transportation training options and improvement plans, logistics, operations, rules, and regulations.
