Job summary

McLane Company, Inc is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead the distribution center transportation operations. The role focuses on ensuring 24/7 coverage, supervising managers, and delivering top logistics support to the warehouse.

You will drive cost-savings KPIs while coordinating delivery and backhaul activities and maintaining a staffed, trained department. English proficiency and experience in outbound transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
• 5+ years experience with outbound transportation; routing and backhaul knowledge.
• 4+ years of accounting, planning, analytical, and/or reporting experience.
• Experience managing large numbers of driving staff; hiring, training, and motivating teammates.
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access).
• Preferred: outbound transportation experience at a distribution center; TMS like Trimble/PeopleNet.
• English reading/writing proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing 24-hour coverage.
• Provide general supervision of all transportation operations managers and functional processes within the department.
• Maintain a properly staffed and trained department that offers the highest levels of logistics support to the warehouse.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate all delivery and backhaul activities.
• Drive key performance indicators for cost savings.
• Efficiently utilize manpower via proper scheduling and training to provide the highest levels of customer service at the store level.
• This position has additional duties; special projects may be assigned.
