Job summary

SpartanNash in San Antonio, TX seeks a Transportation Manager to lead the transportation operations, supervise drivers, dispatch, routing and planning to ensure safe, timely deliveries.

You will partner with warehouse, maintenance and customer service, negotiate with carriers, manage DOT/CSA compliance, and develop reporting on cost per mile, on-time delivery and efficiency. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Logistics or related field.
• Five years transportation planning/logistics/dispatch experience.
• Two years supervisory/management experience.
• Knowledge of DOT/CSA and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage transportation operations including supervising drivers, dispatching, routing and planning.
• Coordinate with warehouse, maintenance and customer service on transport issues.
• Negotiate rates with third-party carriers as needed.
• Ensure DOT/CSA and OSHA compliance and record-keeping.
• Develop reporting on cost per mile, operating ratio and on-time delivery.
