Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is hiring Transportation Area Managers to oversee operations across the country from Salem, Oregon. You will lead hourly associates, ensure safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises while collaborating with site leadership.

The role emphasizes process improvement with Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma tools, managing 20+ staff, and delivering strong customer experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees
• Experience with process improvements (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma)
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Industry experience in: retail, F&B, military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production or distribution environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership on quality and Customer Experience metrics and root cause analysis
• Streamline logistics in the operation through standard work and team leadership
• Support and commit to all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment
• Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools
• You and your team are responsible for customers receiving their orders, training, mentoring, and motivating hourly workforce
• Lead change at internet speed to drive innovation across the global company
