Job summary

Americold is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to lead region dispatch, carrier route guide compliance, and day-to-day transportation operations in Fogelsville, PA.

You will collaborate with warehouse teams, develop capacity plans, manage P&L, and implement SOPs to optimize loads and service levels. This on-site role demands strong supervisory and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely, cost-effective transportation outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or BS degree preferred plus 3 years of traffic/transportation experience or equivalent.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local transportation laws.
• Strong computer skills with AS/400, Microsoft Office; familiar with WMS and RF systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day dispatch functions and overall carrier route guide compliance.
• Work closely with warehouse operations to manage daily operating plan and plan for future shipment activity.
• Assist in the development of carrier capacity plan and measure compliance of carrier commitments to plan.
• Organize dispatchers and customer service associates to effectively manage day-to-day operations in a proactive manner.
• Work with warehouse operations to develop formalized business rules, shipping matrices, and carrier service reviews.
• Ensure consolidation loads are optimized to meet service levels and maximize profitability.
• Supervise daily transportation operations and lead the driver and associate teams.
• Oversee dedicated fleet management, including asset procurement, leasing, contracts, and maintenance.
• Manage profit and loss (P&L), evaluate lane/modal profitability, and develop asset budgets.
• Coordinate carrier capacity planning to meet peak and off-peak demand.
• Resolve complex delivery, billing, and customer service issues with warehouses and carriers.
• Implement standard operating procedures, shipping matrices, and corrective action plans.
