Job summary

Americold Logistics LLC in Fogelsville, PA, seeks a Transportation Operations Supervisor to manage the region's transportation business unit, coordinating dispatch, customer service, route guide compliance, and daily financial reviews.

You will guide day-to-day operations with warehouse teams, develop capacity plans, optimize loads for service and profitability, supervise drivers and staff, and ensure adherence to DOT laws and company SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or BS degree preferred.
• 3 years traffic/transportation experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local transportation laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage the region transportation operations business unit including dispatch operations, customer service, route guide compliance, day-to-day financial reviews/approvals, and overall day-to-day transportation operations.
• Manage the day-to-day dispatch functions and overall carrier route guide compliance.
• Work closely with warehouse operations to manage daily operating plan and plan for future shipment activity.
• Assist in the development of carrier capacity plan and measure compliance of carrier commitments to plan.
• Organize dispatchers and customer service associates to effectively manage day-to-day operations in a proactive manner.
• Work with warehouse operations to develop formalized business rules, daily shipping matrixes, and carrier service reviews.
• Ensure consolidation loads are optimized to meet service levels and maximize profitability.
• Supervise daily transportation operations and lead the driver and associate teams.
• Oversee dedicated fleet management, including asset procurement, leasing, contracts, and maintenance.
• Manage profit and loss (P&L), evaluate lane/modal profitability, and develop asset budgets.
• Coordinate carrier capacity planning to successfully meet peak and off-peak demand.
• Resolve complex delivery, billing, and customer service issues with warehouses and carriers.
• Implement standard operating procedures, shipping matrixes, and corrective action plans.

What Experience and Education You Need

• High school diploma/ BS degree preferred plus 3 years traffic/transportation experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local transportation laws.
• Strong computer skills including experience with AS/400 and Microsoft Office suite as well as familiar with WMS and RF.

Physical Requirements
