Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two+ years in dispatching, transportation operations, routing, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily shuttle, charter, and transportation operations.
• Dispatch drivers and assign trips according to policies and contracts.
• Plan and adjust routes to maximize efficiency and reliability.
• Assist with driver scheduling and real-time assignment changes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing guidance and support.
• Monitor fleet activity and respond to delays and disruptions.
• Track performance metrics and complete daily operational reports.

• Process trip bookings, schedule changes, and cancellations accurately.

Pittsburgh Transportation Group is seeking a full-time Transportation Operations Dispatcher to support our daily transportation services. In this critical role, you'll coordinate fleet activity, dispatch drivers, manage shuttle and charter operations, and help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service across our network.

• Sunday-Thursday: 11:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Monday-Friday: 3:30 AM-11:30 AM

What You'll Do as a Transportation Operations Dispatcher

• Monitor daily shuttle, charter, and transportation operations
• Dispatch drivers and assign trips according to company policies, customer needs, and service contracts
• Plan and adjust routes to maximize operational efficiency and service reliability
• Assist with driver scheduling and make real-time assignment changes as needed
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing operational guidance and support
• Monitor fleet activity and respond quickly to delays, schedule changes, and service disruptions
• Track performance metrics and complete daily operational reports
• Assign vehicles and coordinate with maintenance teams regarding inspections, repairs, and vehicle readiness
• Communicate with customers regarding reservations, schedules, service updates, and transportation inquiries
• Process trip bookings, schedule changes, and cancellations accurately
• Partner with Safety and Training teams to maintain compliance with company policies and transportation regulations
• Respond professionally to customer concerns and help resolve service issues promptly

What We're Looking for as a Transportation Operations Dispatcher:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Two or more years of experience in dispatching, transportation operations, routing, logistics, fleet management, or a related field preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office applications
• Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented work ethic
