Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute is seeking an operations clerical specialist in Monroe, MI to manage driver paperwork, logs, and regulatory compliance with the DOT. The role supports field operations and ensures timely processing of freight documents.

Responsibilities include handling calls, coordinating office-ops liaison, generating daily operation reports and acting as the inbound freight focal point.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• 2 years' distribution/transportation experience in a high volume operation preferred.
• Valid driver's license with insurability standards.
• Strong leadership, analytical and motivational skills.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Windows, Excel and Word.
• Understanding of manpower scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize and process driver daily paperwork, logs, manifest, vehicle inspection, etc.
• Answer phones, route calls and take messages.
• Research operation challenges, order supplies, liaison between office and operations
• Respond to delivery associate issues and provide support for a resolution.
• Process inbound freight paperwork weekly.
• Primary contact for any inbound freight issues.
• Run daily reports for operations supervisors (i.e. observations, vehicle tracking, etc.)
• Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervision or management.
