The Council on Aging is seeking a Transportation Operation & Administrative Specialist in Covington, LA to support daily transit operations and administrative functions for COAST’s demand-response services.

Centered in Covington, LA., The Council on Aging, is the lead agency providing outreach and community involvement to the senior population over age 60 in St. Tammany Parish. Boasting 8 activity centers throughout the parish, it’s activity centers, provide voluntary exercise programs, fun activities, meal provisions and our transportation services offer a compassionate hand to ensure senior citizens have access to much needed services. Additionally, our partnership with the St. Tammany Parish Government, operates STAR Transit to reach those seniors in rural areas.
The Transportation Operation & Administrative Specialist plays a critical dual-role supporting both daily transit operations and departmental administrative functions for COAST’s demand-response transportation services. This position is responsible for dispatch coordination, routing, and real-time operational support while also managing data integrity, reporting, fare accountability, maintenance tracking, and administrative workflow.
This role serves as a key liaison between operations, administration, drivers, call center staff, and management to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation services for elderly and disabled clients. This is a safety-sensitive position.
