Spring Branch Independent School District seeks a Mechanic III for the Transportation department to perform repairs on district buses, trucks, vans, and cars. The role reports to the Transportation Fleet Manager and requires experience with vehicle systems and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include brake, engine, and hydraulic system maintenance, with duties extending to bus Route driving and shop safety adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record as per Texas DPS.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL with P&S endorsement to operate a school bus.
• ASE Automotive Certifications or TASBT school bus certifications a plus.

Responsabilités

• Repair and replace bolt-on components.
• Test, repair, and service starting, charging and lighting systems.
• Diagnose and repair engine performance on gasoline and diesel vehicles.
• Service engines and transmissions, including chassis lubrication and fuel system maintenance.
• Test and repair hydraulic systems, brakes and lifting equipment.
• Perform tire mounting and balancing.
• Drive bus routes as needed.
• Maintain shop safety and equipment.
• Participate in cross-training and safety meetings.
