Job summary

Centennial School District is seeking a skilled Bus Mechanic I for a full-time, 12-month position. The role performs mechanical maintenance on district buses and other vehicles to keep the fleet reliable and ready for the educational program.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, engine and brake work, preventive maintenance, safety, inventory control, and emergency service as needed. ASE certified and CDL Class A within two years of hire are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in repair and maintenance of buses, trucks and other automotive equipment.
• ASE certification with requirement to obtain within two years of hire.
• Class A CDL required within two years of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, diagnoses and completes repairs of mechanical defects in buses, automobiles, trucks and other equipment.
• Performs engine, transmission, suspension, brake, electrical, cooling and related repair work.
• Provides emergency road service and repairs to disabled vehicles as required.
• Maintains inventory control and assists in purchasing parts and supplies.
• Promotes safety and housekeeping in the automotive maintenance shop.
