Job summary

Essity in Appleton, WI is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead our North America transportation and distribution program. You will manage a carrier network of nearly 100 external providers and more than $100 million in annual transportation spend, shaping sourcing strategies and ensuring reliable service for Essity’s Health & Medical, Personal Care, and Professional Hygiene brands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of transportation experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• Experience in procurement, planning, collaboration across functions
• Knowledge of SAP and TMS is a plus
• Ability to work in a matrix organization and engage international contacts
• Strong business analysis skills and strategic thinking

Responsibilities

• Monitor transportation KPIs and develop corrective actions
• Lead cost optimization projects and lane optimization
• Negotiate transportation contracts and advise on costs
• Develop carrier relationships and set up contracts
• Visit market facilities to harmonize operations
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on transportation issues
• Collaborate with SmartHub planning to deploy approved carriers
• Perform other duties as required
