Job summary

Loffredo Fresh Foods is seeking a Transportation Manager for our Des Moines, IA location. You will lead the daily transportation team, manage schedules, and uphold safety and FMCSA compliance to deliver exceptional service.

You will interview, hire, and develop staff, coach drivers on behavior, and collaborate with maintenance to keep operations running smoothly. A CDL and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in a Transportation department or location.
• Current Class A or B CDL, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service.
• Experience with routing software such as Road Net, Dispatch Track, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day leadership and direction to the transportation staff.
• Manage employee schedules to ensure proper daily staffing levels.
• Promote safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate run backs or seconds to ensure customers receive service.
• Interview, hire, train, and develop staff members.
• Provide coaching sessions on driver behavior.
• Work with maintenance on repairs.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
