Loffredo Fresh Foods, Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead the Des Moines transportation team and manage daily operations.

You will oversee staff scheduling, safety compliance, and driver coaching to maintain high service levels and regulatory adherence. CDL experience and strong leadership are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

Job Title: Transportation Manager
Location: Des Moines, IA

Join Loffredo Fresh Foods as a Transportation Manager based out of our Des Moines Branch. We are a family-owned business with over 130 years of history, committed to inspiring healthier lifestyles and providing exceptional fresh food solutions.

As a Transportation Manager you are responsible for the day-to-day management of our Des Moines transportation team. Transportation is a vital department in our organization and this position requires solid leadership skills. This position will manage employee schedules, interview potential team members, and promote safety protocols across the branch. You will provide coaching sessions to correct driver’s behavior through the use of a Drive Cam and ensure that FMCSA compliance and protocols are being followed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day leadership and direction to the transportation staff
• Manage employee schedules to ensure proper daily staffing levels
• Promote Safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a culture of safety among all transportation team members.
• Coordinate run backs or seconds with the team to ensure customer getting service
• Communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and team members, both external and internal
• Interview, hire, train, and develop staff members
• Provide coaching sessions on correct driver behavior thru use of Drive Cam
• Work closely with on-site maintenance department on all repairs
• Perform other job-related duties as required

Basic Requirements Needed:

• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's in supply chain Logistics or related field preferred, or experience in lieu of
• 3-5 years of previous leadership experience in a Transportation department or location
• Basic knowledge of routing software such as Road Net, Dispatch Track, etc.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service required
• Must be customer driven and that is for both internal and external customers
• Ability to lead and develop team members
• Must be available after hours to deal with issues related to transportation or its team members
• Must have current Class A or B CDL, or be willing to get one within 90 days of employment
