Job Summary

Under the supervision of the VP of Operations, the Transportation Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to transport services, including Pace participant appointments, Pharmacy deliveries, and Savory Fare deliveries. The role involves coordinating safe and reliable transportation for medical appointments, activities, and outings for PACE clients, working closely with the Pharmacy department for medication deliveries, and collaborating with Savory Fare for food deliveries. This position requires strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate route logistics for the PACE driver fleet across all sites and settings.
  2. Manage scheduling and routine delivery of participant medications, reporting concerns as needed.
  3. Oversee weekly delivery of Savory Fare products, ensuring excellent customer service.
  4. Communicate effectively with drivers, aides, and vendors regarding duties, responsibilities, and concerns.
  5. Adjust schedules and routes based on unanticipated changes for safety and efficiency.
  6. Ensure timely transportation for participants to and from the PACE center and medical appointments.
  7. Collaborate with the Health Center and intake department for scheduling and transportation coordination.
  8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
  9. Ensure vehicle maintenance, manage transportation budget, and oversee equipment and resources.
  10. Monitor performance trends, compliance with regulations, and maintain documentation.
  11. Support staff hiring, training, and orientation, and address client concerns promptly.
  12. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and represent PACE in meetings.
  13. Support emergency planning, confidentiality, and participate in organizational committees.
  14. Use data to inform decisions and support continuous improvement.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  • Maintain confidentiality, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office or similar software.
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Sound judgment under stress, data analysis skills, and knowledge of policies and regulations.
  • Perform clinical/skilled tasks within scope of position.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or program management.
  • 1-3 years staff management experience.
  • Experience within healthcare and with elderly populations is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

None required, but valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are necessary.

Physical & Position Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting, lifting up to 20 pounds, navigating premises, and exposure to medical environment conditions.
