Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Tech I/II in Ballinger. The role covers highway maintenance for US and state routes, with duties including sign repair, litter pickup, and equipment operation in a 12-person team.

Compensation ranges from starting salaries to up to mid 60k annually; CDL training with lodging and per-diems may be provided. Work schedule is Mon–Thu, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., onsite in Ballinger.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of highway maintenance operations.
• Ability to operate light and heavy equipment safely.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highways and rights-of-way and perform roadway repairs.
• Operate light equipment such as front-end loaders and mowers.
• Assist with traffic control and accident response.
• Support sign and delineator installation and repair.
• Perform PMI and routine equipment servicing.
