Job summary

Acuity Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Transportation Lead to manage outbound shipments across the distribution center network.

You will drive the Completed Order strategy, improve route planning with RXO, and ensure accurate documentation and timely communication with carriers. This role emphasizes cost and service optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and sustaining EarthLIGHT initiatives, with 0-10% travel and a focus on safety, process improvement, and leadership of Traffic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution center operations.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS); RXO experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and leadership capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and operational reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shipment tracking and proactive communication.
• Execute and optimize routing through TMS (RXO) to improve cost, service, and delivery efficiency.
• Lead OSD (Over, Short, Damaged) resolution and claims management with carriers.
• Ensure full documentation compliance including BOL accuracy, pallet counts, and packing slips.
• Partner with DRP and Transportation teams to support network flow and inventory positioning.
• Coordinate internal dock scheduling to align with production and outbound priorities.
• Support material supply management including pallets, labels, and packaging.
• Drive customer experience improvements through shipment consolidation and reduced delivery frequency.
