Job summary

V3 Companies, Ltd. is seeking a Transportation Group Leader to lead its Ohio transportation design practice in Columbus. The role focuses on strategy, client relationships, and growing the market while developing people and delivering impactful transportation solutions.

The candidate brings 12+ years of experience, a P.E. license, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial leadership style to strengthen V3’s presence across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a P.E. license.
• 12+ years delivering transportation and infrastructure projects for municipalities, counties, and ODOT.
• Proven ability to lead people, coach and mentor, and grow teams.
• Strong client relationships, business development, and cross‑office collaboration.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or Civil 3D is a plus.

As part of V3’s Transportation Planning & Design team, you’ll collaborate with 450+ planners, engineers, designers, and scientists across North America to deliver smart, practical, and lasting solutions for clients and communities.

What will help you thrive in this role:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• 12+ years of experience delivering transportation and infrastructure improvement projects for municipalities, counties, and ODOT.
• A passion for leading people—coaching, mentoring, and helping technical professionals grow in their careers.
• A track record of building client relationships, supporting business development, and helping grow a transportation market.
• Strong judgment in project delivery, resource planning, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
• A collaborative, entrepreneurial leadership style and the ability to work effectively across service lines, regions, and firmwide teams.
• Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or similar transportation design platforms.
• Strong communication skills for proposals, interviews, presentations, and client conversations.
