Position Information
TxDOT's Design Division is looking for a Landscape Architect to join our team in the Landscape Architecture Branch! This position will involve developing landscaping projects, providing support to field personnel for landscaping issues, coordinating on Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues, and reviewing projects for ADA and landscaping concerns. This role may oversee the statewide ADA program. Join us to design and plan spaces in TxDOT ROW to achieve aesthetic, environmental, and functional goals. Work on a variety of projects across the various climates and topographies of Texas for districts to work with Local Partners to collaborate with other professionals, such as architects and engineers, to ensure that their designs are safe, practical, and effective. Develop guidelines for working with local partners, while taking into consideration factors such as natural features, topography, climate, and economic feasibility and preferences when designing ROW projects across TxDOT’s 25 districts.

Transportation Landscape Architect I - B23 Salary Range $71,000.00 - $89,000.00
Transportation Landscape Architect II- B25 Salary Range $75,000.00 - $96,000.00
Transportation Landscape Architect III- B27 Salary Range $80,000.00 - $115,000.00

Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.

Develops environmentally sensitive landscape architectural designs and provides support to the landscape development and establishment of projects. May serve as a lead worker for professional and technical employees engaged in landscape design projects. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.

Develops environmentally sensitive landscape architectural designs and provides support to the landscape development and establishment of projects. Serves as a lead worker for professional and technical employees engaged in developing and coordinating the implementation of landscape design projects. Work requires contact and/or coordination with district/division staff, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
