Job summary

SSR is seeking a Transportation Intern to support field and office teams during the summer, offering hands-on experience in transportation construction, QA practices, and how engineering design comes to life in the field.

Interns gain mentorship from licensed engineers and inspectors, with housing allowances for interns not near office locations and opportunities to build their resumes with meaningful field exposure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Sophomore year completed by internship start date.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors on active construction sites.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on transportation construction projects.
• Apply standard construction and inspection techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of the Transportation Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.
