Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a Transportation Intern to support our field and office teams during the summer.

This internship is ideal for students pursuing Civil Engineering or Construction Management, offering hands-on experience in transportation construction projects and quality assurance practices. You will work under the Transportation Manager, gain real-world design-to-field insight, and receive mentorship from licensed engineers and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Sophomore year completed or higher by internship start date.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors on active construction sites.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on transportation construction projects.
• Apply standard construction and inspection techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under supervision of the Transportation Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.
